Why are we a registered charity?
 
The Charity Act 2011 requires all organisations such as ours with an annual income of £1,000 or over to register with the Charity Commission.
As a charity we must abide by Charity Commission rules and regulations and we are bound by our constitution. Our constitution lays down rules about how we operate as a PTA and how we conduct ourselves. A full copy of our constitution

Being a Registered Charity gives us many extra benefits.

• We are able to apply for Gift Aid, which can earn us an extra 25p in every pound donated to the PTA.
• We can raise funds more easily from grant giving trusts, and local businesses.
• We can take advantage of charity matched giving schemes.
 
 
AGM
 
Our AGM is held in November and this is an opportunity for all parents to come along and hear in more detail about events and funds raised and how the money has been spent. This is also an opportunity to elect a new committee. This is a very short meeting which presents a summary of the previous year’s activity and accounts, as well as facilitating the election of committee members and trustees. Should you wish to be elected to a role on the committee such as Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Grants or Publicity or wish to stand as a trustee of the Charity, please let us know in advance of the event. Our next AGM will be in November 2015.
